We have limited student parking at SGCHS. Due to the shortage of parking spaces, only grade 11 and 12 students will be allowed to park in the student parking area. NO GRADE 10 PARKING. Parking will be on a first come first served basis for grade 11 and 12 students only.
Staff parking is on the first 2 rows closest to the school (southside of the parking lot). Students can park in the rows behind staff parking, but not in the staff parking area or in the visitor parking spots on the South side of the building.
Students need to register their vehicles with the office by completing the online form. They will receive a parking permit to be displayed in their vehicle at all times they are parked in the SGCHS parking lot. These permits are not transferable, and if lost or stolen will need to be replaced at a cost of $15.
Students are not allowed to idle their vehicles in the parking lot upon arrival, during lunch hour, breaks, during seminar, or after school. Students are to refrain from loitering, gathering or hanging out in the parking lot or in vehicles. Students are expected to keep the parking lot clean, and should place all garbage in the containers provided.
Drivers in the SGCHS parking lot should travel slowly (10 km/h), watch for other vehicles and pedestrians, and park carefully. Students should only park in marked spaces, and park between the lines.
If students are involved in an accident in the parking lot they should follow appropriate procedures, including exchanging information (registration, insurance, contact), taking pictures and identifying witnesses. Should they require assistance they can contact the school office or RCMP.
Students are expected to follow all of the school, driving and parking expectations and directions from staff. This includes (but is not limited to) vaping, speeding, improper parking, stunting, littering or loitering. Parking privileges at SGCHS can be revoked for a period of time, or for the year.
Vehicles found parked in Staff, Visitor, City of Spruce Grove, Early Childhood or 24 Hour Reserved Parking, the fire lane, or at the United Church on Grove Drive will be ticketed and/or towed at the owner’s expense.
