Outreach

Outreach is an off-campus program overseen by Connections For Learning in Stony Plain. The program recognizes the importance of providing educational opportunities for students whose needs are not met in a traditional classroom setting.

Our goal is to increase the likelihood of high school completion for at risk students, or those who have complex academic and personal needs.

Programming

Outreach programming encompasses community partnership in meeting the needs of the "whole student" by:

  • Working closely with staff at Connections For Learning as well as collaborating with counsellors and administrators at the main campus to create critical links to student success.

  • Providing flexibility in programming to meet the diverse needs of the student while placing value on pacing, individualized programming, and setting boundaries for course completion.

  • Providing opportunity to develop skills and strategies for independent learning in areas of goal setting, study habits, time management and effective communication.

  • Making connections with community businesses for work experience placement.

All main campus students are required to have their grade coordinator's approval before registering at Outreach.
