Truth and Reconciliation Week: Sept. 22-26

We are participating in Truth and Reconciliation Week by educating ourselves and sharing knowledge with others. Join us on this educational journey.

A number of our students will be participating in viewing the rebroadcast (from Halifax, NS, Sept. 18) of “The Gifts We Carry,”. Me’j Tekweyulkul Kina’matnewe’l wjit teli-Kpma’ltultimk s speaks to "we still carry with us the lessons on how to treat one another with the greatest respect.” Students will hear from residential school Survivors and take in performances by Indigenous dancers and singer-songwriters. They will also hear from Elders, change-makers, knowledge-holders and authors.

Don't forget to wear an Orange Shirt on Friday, Sept. 26, for our acknowledgement of Orange Shirt Day, because "Every Child Matters". Orange Shirt Day and Truth and Reconciliation Day are both officially recongnized on Tuesday, September 30.
